Behind the EGF School Website
There is a famous saying that says millions of ideas are born everyday into human minds but most of them short-lived. Ours were not exception to it. This idea of EGF website must have re-incarnated several times before it is actually unfolded and realized in to action.
This achievement, though may be small, has interesting antecedents to which valuable times and relentless efforts have been dedicated by some volunteers.
It was during the Annual Social Gathering of European Manipuri Association (EMA), August 2010 at London, two alumni – Laishram Tiken and Okram Bishwajit of Evergreen Flowers’ School, Thoubal first met. The 9 batches difference between them did not deter them from keeping in touch on regular basis, mainly because of 2 reasons – being Manipuri and being alumni from the same school, EGF.
It all began when the two minds of the EGF alumni started meeting the same ambition to develop a website for our beloved school through which all alumni spread across the globe could be brought into a single online platform.
Laishram Tiken brought in his close friends, Mr. Thoudam Chitaranjan who was staying at Mumbai and his brother Thoudam Opendro who is in Bangalore. Okram Bishwajit discussed the idea of website and setting up an alumni association with the head master of the school, Oja Okram Ibopishak. The four alumni, then, set off to initiate the project of their own first. The first online conference, among them, was held on 10 April, 2011. The whole process to come up with the idea, bringing 4 people together as a team and starting the actual work took efforts of several months. The rest is history.
